Semiotics was formed in 2005. The band features Todd Means, Daniel Casey, Jason Cannan, Jacob Beizer, and Sotiris Eliopoulos. In March 2007, the band released a 6-song EP entitled Say Something, which demonstrates their vibrant repertoire. The songs juxtapose ethereal electronic melodies, fast guitar riffs, soaring vocals, and heavy drum grooves to produce a sound similar to that of Thrice, Gatsbys American Dream, Brazil, and Portugal The Man.
