The Moving Units
I have been a fan of The Moving Units since I saw them live with Shiny Toy Guns about a year ago, and when I found out they were playing the glass house in Pomona I knew I couldn’t miss this show. I didn’t make it for any of the opening acts due to previous engagements but I made it just in time with five minutes to spare before The Moving Units went on!
Everyone was restless, they just wanted to see the band. By now it was about 10:15pm and the show had started around 7pm or so. When the lights went out the crowd started cheering. Then slowly a few stage lights came on and you could see the band. When I looked around all I saw was the crowd dancing, jumping up and down, waving their hands in the air and a lot of screaming! The band opened up with the track “Birds Of Prey” off their album Dangerous Dreams--such a great song for an opener, the entire song just makes you want to dance!
The Moving Units played many crowd favorites throughout the night such as “Pink Thoughts”, “Blood Beats” and “X and Y”. The band had so much energy up on the stage and the fans were going crazy! The crowd went nuts when the band started to play singles like “Crash ‘N’ Burn Victims” and “The Kids from Orange County”. Everyone around me was having a good time dancing, bobbing their heads back and forth, or just soaking in this band’s live music. The band played about an hour and fifteen minutes and when they were done the crowd chanted for more. The Moving Units then came out and played three more songs! Everyone left drenched in sweat but full of energy, loving the band even more than they already had. The Moving Units is a band people should check out live if you haven’t already done so.
