With the Summer Constellations Tour near to a finish, the tour did stop on July 27th, 2009 at The Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was Enter Shkari’s last night on the tour. There was already a band, Irestledthebearonce, dropped out of the tour for a bit due to some serious family health issues and this definitely made some of the fans upset, but they weren’t going to leave the show without a performance to remember.
Other than local bands opening the show, it initially started with Enter Shikari’s set. The English band is so different with their style of music you can’t help but to watch them. They opened with a crowd pleaser, Solidarity, off their new album Common Dreads, which came out in the spring of this year. They definitely hyped the crowd up for the next band, even though they don’t have a big following in the states like they do in England.
Up next was Blessthefall. As they got ready setting up none of the guys appear on stage for sound check, except for Matt, their drummer. They are back stage when they finish their sound check as the crowd impatiently waits. But as soon as the introduction music starts and one by one they appear on stage the crowd goes wild, I then knew why they didn’t appear on stage until they play. Opening with To Hell and Back you can see the crowd singing along with excitement for the rest of their set. During a break in the song Beau Bokan, the singer, yells, “move,” the whole crowd goes into a frenzy, it seemed like someone could die just being in the crowd. The crowd was really enjoying the band’s set, the new and the old fans. With their new album “Witness” coming out on October 6 with Fearless Records, it was only fair to play a new song, Witness. The crowd definitely loved it and soaked in the new song while still moving and keeping up with the set. They ended with Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad, a definite crowd pleaser. It brings out so much energy from the band and the crowd you can’t help but to watch in awe. They definitely blew everyone away with their performance and since they are releasing their new album with Beau as the singer for the first time, you can say this tour has given a good impression on people what the future of Blessthefall will be like.
Last was August Burns Red. They are definitely extremely different from Enter Shikari and Blessthefall. More metal than anything, with harder base lines and heavier screams. They were a great headliner and definitely put on a phenomenal show with their music and lights.
Set List
To Hell and Back
What’s Left of Me
Message to the Unknown
Witness
Rise Up
Could Tell a Love
Times Like These
Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad
