There is nothing subtle about P!nk’s new album, “I’m Not Dead.” From the cover art to the first song, everything is in bold. P!ink is not afraid to sing about her personal thoughts and feelings, and neither is she afraid to sing about political and social issues.

Starting off with “Stupid Girls,” P!nk sets the tone for the rest of the album in as much thoughtfulness as in musical style. In fact, the first song discusses girls that simply “follow the crowd” as opposed to girls having their own opinions and using their mind. From that stance, the rest of the album should be taken as such – to agree with P!nk, or not.

Musically, “I’m Not Dead” is appealing with its strong beats and rhythms. There are also some songs that are more acoustic (but not toned down in any way), such as the extra, 14th song, “I Have Seen The Rain,” which was a duet with James Moore, her father. Pop, but also soulful, P!nk continues to captivate the audience with this album.
