The Lives of Famous Men
I initially went to this show because Anarbor was playing but walked away with another band to add to my long list of artists I like. The Lives of Famous Men are a band from Alaska but moved down to Oregon to help pursue their music career. They are unsigned but have been on tour with bands such as A Cursive Memory, A Rocket To The Moon, and Brighten. They have three EPS out, two that came out in 2007 and one from 2008. They are a band that everyone is slowly hearing about.
Anarbor was direct support for The Lives of Famous Men at the knitting factory in Los Angeles. This show was in the front room- pretty good size. Anarbor had a fun set, everyone seemed to enjoy them. When the The Lives of Famous Men came to the stage I wasn’t really looking forward to sitting through a band I have only heard of a few times, but my mind would soon change. When the singer started singing, I was shocked, his voice was definitely not what I thought I would hear. His voice was good and unique.
The band performed a catchy song titled “Annie Taylor”. The band has stage presence that some bands do not posses nowadays. They grab your attention and leave you wanting to hear more and see more. They are very into their music on stage but keep the audience hooked on the music. This band won me over and I guarantee I will catch them next time they have a show in the la/oc area.
