Not only is this girl totally hot, her voice is absolutely amazing. As soon as the music starts to play you wanna rock the hell out. This is one of those CD's that you can go back to the teenage rebellion and throw your hair and arms all over the place while jumping on your bed. It’s that great. I really feel this is a coming of age album expressed in the way she acts and her lyrics maturity.
On “Dirty Boys and Girls” she sounds just like Courtney Love without the drugs taking over her vocal box. It’s fresher and younger sounding and the lyrics are sexy in themselves. Really, what 20-something-year-old can’t relate to, “We all want love but we all crave to fuck / and I want it all / it all yeah in this world tonight.”
Again, sounding like a super spicy, sexy, Courtney Love, “Takes One to Know One,” really sounds like she’s struggling, waiting for something that is ceasing to exist. A love that isn’t there, or is one-sided, is what she’s searching for and by my experience, that’s an empty cause.
I really didn’t like “Stepping Stones.” I have a good reason. I felt it was too repetitive all though the lyrics don’t really say that. The who atmosphere to that track reminded me of a broken record almost.
Dirty Harry redeemed herself with “Drunks of London.” She even sounded like Tori Amos mixed with Ani DiFranco. Knowing (by the stalking I’ve done on her), that she’s doing some acoustic songs, this would be one to do for sure. It sets the mood itself for a coffee shop. It’s a keeper and because of this song, it makes the whole album, entirely worth every bit. She’s sexy, feisty, and raspy and you can’t really ask for anything else from this vixen. Oh yeah, her music is really great too. Support Dirty Harry as much as you can especially if you’ve ever been a fan of bands like Hole, P!NK, Tori Amos, and Ani DiFranco. Even if you haven’t been a fan, it’s still worth it. It’s a fresher sound than those Avril posers.
