CJ Garner is a man of many talents. Some know him as the star player of his high school basketball team, leading them to a state championship title in 2008, and going on to play for two Division I schools in two years. But that’s only one face. Everyone else knows him as a music production phenomenon. Best known as June (AyeJune), Garner has indeed come quite a long way from his origination days of music. “I used to play in my elementary school band, clarinet and trumpet”, he states. “Music has always been an integral part of my life.” Born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, he was introduced to music production at age 13, his pioneer software being Fruity Loops 3.4. He excelled quickly with it, and went on to work with a variety of local artists over the years. Garner has also done a large amount of work with local producer Marc-Anthony Murray, also known as B3Music, starting in 2004. Childhood friends since age five, both took up production simultaneously and have expanded their genre catalog significantly, covering all bases: Pop, R&B, Club, and Hip-Hop being some prime examples. Garner has also produced “In My Soul” for SODMG’s Khleo Thomas, released in April of 2010 and is also a major component of up and coming artist Dave East’s red-hot production; just an example of much future collaboration to come. He possesses an innate drive and is determined to seize success as he sees it; Garner constantly emphasizes that there should never be a point where you give up hope. “It’s not a game,” he says. “I will be the greatest producer ever.”
