Spotlight: Mavin
The Mavin story began when Chris Trauth, who'd been playing since early high school, formed the band Relapse with brother Pete and friend Mike Trobiani. Over the next couple years, Relapse played the local Las Vegas circuit, becoming a favorite at such clubs as: The Boston, Legends Lounge, USA Café.

Looking to expand their fan base and musical opportunities, Mike, Chris and Pete moved to Los Angeles in 2002. AJ was living and working as an actor in LA when he joined his brothers in creating the new rock 'n' roll band Badge. In June 2002 the band recorded a five song demo while looking for a bass player. The final line up was complete when bassist Dan Kremer joined the group in October of that year.

While rapidly gaining recognition and receiving national attention, the band found itself facing a legal issue which necessitated a name change. Without missing a beat, Badge became Mavin.

Mavin self released their debut EP in December 2003, and have added to their expanding list of credits: music featured in the new independent film "Yard Sale", as well as the made-for-TV movie "You Wish". Mavin performs the title song for the new animated series "American Dragon", set to premiere early 2005, and shot a music video for the series as well.

The band is making their feature debut in the new Lindsay Lohan film: Herbie: Fully Loaded. Mavin also performs on the soundtrack. Despite their busy schedule, the band continues to write new material and entertain audiences in select clubs around Southern California and Southern Nevada.

This month, Mavin.
In what ways has the band evolved since it's initial start, musically?
We have a much more defined sound now than when we started.
Your EP sold out last year, were you expecting such a strong positive reaction to the release of it?
We released it without any expectation and it was a great surprise. We just wanted to have something available to the fans.

When can fans expect a new release from you guys? Will you do a full-length Indie release?

We definitely will be doing a full length release. When that will be is undetermined as of now.
