Why
don't we start off with you introducing yourself
to our BN readers.
My
name is Marion Raven, born and raised in Norweigh.
Now I live in L.A. and just finished recording my
album that will be out next year. I have an E.P.
out with six of my most rock songs.
Is
there an overall theme on your E.P.?
Well
I had a relationship that went bad so it's pretty
my an overall thing with all my new songs.
I
saw your video for your song "Heads will Roll."
I'm sure its a video that's going to be talked about.
Did you come up with the concept of that video?
Were you nervous? What was it like filming it?
It was the director who came up with it, but he
did know we wanted a really sexy rock video. I loved
the idea. I was excited and had a lot of fun doing
it.
Do
you feel like you have to prove yourself as a solo
artist since years ago you were in a pop duo group
and your music is very different from music with
M2M?
I
don't think so. It was such a long time ago and
I was only fourteen years old. I think people understand
that you change and when you are fourteen, you really
havent discovered yourself as an artist yet. I'm
so different now and I don't really focus on that.
You
started music at a really young age. Was is something
you always wanted to do?
Since
I was a little girl I wanted to be an artist--making
music and writing songs. It's always been my dream
to do this.
I
know you teamed up with Meatloaf to sing “It’s
All Coming Back to me now”. He was quoted
saying, “She can rock better than anyone I
know, her voice is the perfect combination of raw
emotion and heart felt insensity.” How do
you feel when you hear such great compliments from
well-known artists in the music industry?
It
feels really good. I feel very honored that he would
say that about me.
Who
is your biggest musical influence?
I
love 60's and 70's rock and roll. Right now I'm
really into Aerosmith.
So
are you recording in L.A. right now?
Actually
I'm in London. I just performed with Meat Loaf the
other night on his tour.
Are
their any plans for a solo tour?
We
are working on it right now. I am hoping to either
open up for someone and tour the U.S. or put together
an acoustic tour to just get started. My dream to
have my own headline tour.
Well
if you can pick anyone to tour with, who would it
be and why?
I
think Evanescence would be awesome to tour with.
She's really rocking and she play piano--and I just
think her audience might be opened to my music as
well.
Anything
else you want to say to our BandNation readers and
all your fans out there?
Be
sure to check out my EP. I'm proud of it and happy
that I'm putting out music in the U.S.
