Can
you start off by introducing yourselves to our readers?
I
(Louise) will be answering these questions. I play
bass and sing. Also in Lillix are Lacey-Lee Evin
(keys/vox) Tasha-Ray Evin (guitar/vox) and Alicia
Warrington (drums)
Alicia
is the newest addition to Lillix. How did that come
about?
We
had been auditioning new drummers (guys and girls)
since late 2004, and when we heard about Alicia
Warrington we had her fly up to Vancouver and play
with us. She was looking for a band, and we were
looking for a wicked drummer. We knew right away
she was the "missing link", and asked
her to join!
We
know "Inside the Hollow" will be in stores
this summer. How are you guys feeling? Are you excited?
Anxious?
Excited.
We have waited so long for this to come out that
all feelings of anxiety or nerves have disappeared!
Who
inspires you musically?
Personally,
the Beatles, The Cure, the Velvet Underground, David
Bowie, Neko Case, the Kinks, the list goes on...
We all love Metric.
Is
the music style any different from your first album?
How would you describe this new album musically?
Maria:
I really try not to censor myself, but it has happened.
Sometimes when you are in a really dark place, you
tend to write some really disturbing stuff (laughs).
I still have those songs for me to listen to, but
as far as putting it out there, it wouldn't do anyone
any good.
What
is your favorite song on the album?
YES-
of course! We are so much older and more experienced
than we were with the first album. We're obvioulsy
more mature, our writing has gotten better and we
have been influenced by completely different things
than on the first record like being "on the
road", life in general and new bands we've
found inspiring.
What
is your favorite song on this album and why?
I
hate this question! It changes everyday, but I love
playing Tempo Change live.
What
can we catch you doing on a day off?
We
all spend a lot of time writing... Going to shows,
walks at night through the city, mod club, reading,
we're quite boring actually... I'm trying to be
a DJ....
"Inside
the Hollow" seems more personal than your first
album? What was your inspiration when you went into
the studio to record?
As
previously mentioned, life! Touring, meeting new
people, relationships, observations, loss, etc...
Will
you be touring to support the new album? What can
fans expect when they go see Lillix live?
No.
We will not be touring. (haha) yes of course, you
can expect to see a "new twist on old favorites",
we've changed a lot of our older music but for the
better! Also an acoustic set thrown in for good
measure, and hopefully what you could describe as
a "fantastic show!"
What
has been the most memorable moment in your career
so far?
Anything
to do with Japan (touring, meeting the fans, just
being there) I guess getting signed was pretty sweet
too... ;)
Anything
else you want to say to our BandNation.com readers
before they go?
Bandnation,
thanks for caring!
